Kristen Stewart is getting on the pineapple express.
The Oscar-nominated actress revealed during a Interview magazine discussion with Rachel Sennott about the fact that she is writing a feature film “comedy for girls” with girlfriend Dylan Meyer, who co-wrote “Moxie” by Amy Poehler. Meyer is also the daughter of Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Nicholas Meyer.
“My girlfriend and I are also writing something right now,” Stewart told Sennott. “Dylan and I are writing a film. It’s a stoner girl comedy, and it’s really fucking stupid. I think you will like it. But the reason I thought about it is because our producer is our best friend. We are starting a company.
The “Future Crimes” actress continued, “I’ve worked with so many people I didn’t know and didn’t like for so long. It was definitely valuable, but also, fuck it.
Stewart will make her directorial debut with “The Chronology of Water,” which she adapted from writer Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir. Imogen Poots helms indie film produced by Ridley Scott.
“I’ve been scared of something big lately,” Stewart said of directing the film, which has been in the works since 2018. “There’s a weird hierarchy that makes me uncomfortable. “Completely genuine, but I just want to make a film about Cassavetes. I want my first film to be a student film, even if it takes three years.”
Stewart added, “Also I won’t do a movie for more than $5 million, because it makes me uncomfortable and usually they suck. But getting people to agree to do it is so hard.
The “Twilight” alum noted that pre-production on “The Chronology of Water” was “underway” as of March 2022.
“I spoke to someone with a lot of money two days ago, and she seemed excited about the prospect, but I want her to be small,” Stewart said at the time. “I think the best version really is. The freezing water I’m going to throw this girl in, I already feel terrible. It’s such a huge request to invite someone to this particular thing.
